<div dir="ltr"><div style="font-size:small" class="gmail_default">For water softeners, I have had a very good experience with Water Depot in Waterloo.</div><div style="font-size:small" class="gmail_default">About 21 years ago, the Kenmore softener, which was in the house when we moved in, burst and flooded the basement (unfinished, so no damage).</div><div style="font-size:small" class="gmail_default"><br></div><div style="font-size:small" class="gmail_default">I had it replaced by Water Depot, and it lasted for 21 years.</div><div style="font-size:small" class="gmail_default">Towards the end, it had diminished capacity (needed to be regenerated too often).</div><div style="font-size:small" class="gmail_default">Turns out that the resin needs to be replaced after ~ 10 years of service.</div><div style="font-size:small" class="gmail_default">Also, there was a very thick layer of solid salt at the bottom which reduced the amount of brine that is used in every regen cycle. </div><div style="font-size:small" class="gmail_default">The old one could continue to work if the salt was removed (very tedious), and the resin replaced.</div><div style="font-size:small" class="gmail_default">But because of the age, I didn&#39;t want to risk a blown gasket or something else going bad. </div><div style="font-size:small" class="gmail_default">So I decided to replace it.</div><div style="font-size:small" class="gmail_default"><br></div><div style="font-size:small" class="gmail_default">They had a deal on a top model for the price of a regular one, and offered a small discount on top of that for a repeat customer. </div><div style="font-size:small" class="gmail_default"><br></div><div style="font-size:small" class="gmail_default">Works like a charm. </div></div>
