<div dir="ltr"><div>I think I mentioned to the group that I switched to CarryTel about a year ago. At the time, they had a great introductory offer of around $39.99 a month for six months, for 1000/50. Now my rates have gone up (as expected) to $69.99 per month. Service is good, but as William mentioned you get the occasional blip. And, as he also mentioned, I can't tell if it's Rogers or CarryTel, but I don't think I had as many blips when I was with vMedia.</div><div><br></div><div>Given that I work from home and am in constant VPN connection to the office, and that usually someone in the house has YouTube going, and that I may or may not archive various movies or shows for research purposes (arr, Matey!), I need 1000/50.</div><div><br></div><div>However, I recently cancelled our Netflix account, and instead got the TV add-on from CarryTel that's 62 channels for $14.99 a month. I got the cable box from them last week but I'm having a minor issue with getting the box in a line-of-sight location for the remote. I just picked up an IR Extender, and will hopefully test it tomorrow or Friday. If it works (or not) I will try to report back here.</div><div><br></div></div><br><div class="gmail_quote"><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_attr">On Wed, 29 Apr 2026 at 23:53, Khalid Baheyeldin <<a href="mailto:kb@2bits.com" target="_blank">kb@2bits.com</a>> wrote:<br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;border-left:1px solid rgb(204,204,204);padding-left:1ex"><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div class="gmail_default" style="font-size:small">Indeed, $40 is the cheapest I have seen for a 100/30 Cable plan. </div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-size:small"><br></div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-size:small">It is too early to say, since it has not been 2 days yet.</div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-size:small">But so far so good ...</div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-size:small"><br></div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-size:small">I will try to provide an update after a month or so. </div></div><br><div class="gmail_quote"><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_attr">On Wed, Apr 29, 2026 at 5:38\u202fPM William Park via kwlug-disc <<a href="mailto:kwlug-disc@kwlug.org" target="_blank">kwlug-disc@kwlug.org</a>> wrote:<br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;border-left:1px solid rgb(204,204,204);padding-left:1ex"><u></u>

$40/month caught my attention. I'm also with CarryTel, 100Mbit,
$55. Let us know how often Koodo drops connections. CarryTel drops
connection once or twice a month, though can't tell if it's Rogers
or CarryTel.</div></blockquote></div></div>
