Case in-point, I edited the envelope for this message to send to just 
KWLug, and accidently left *both* groups off. Re-sending to KWLug (and 
probably screwing up threading)...

The conversion is automatically split. It was sent to two separate lists. So 
that's a moot point. Unless you're a member of both groups, you're not 
seeing the whole discussion (and if you are, you see two separate, but 
related, discussions).

I think the main issue isn't asking the same question on both lists, but 
that by sending to both using To/Cc, replying to your question may cause 
bounces (it happened to me previously).

Consider sending to yourself, and Bcc'ing both lists?
