[kwlug-disc] Building a new MythTV Frontend

I'm still working on using an AppleTV. It works, is cheap and silent, has h/w H.264/mpeg4 playback, hdmi, composite out, and component out. The only thing that has yet to work is the remote. A remote keyboard should work though but I vnc into mine.

When I get more time I'll wrestle a macbook away from friend and see if I can fix the remote.

The NVIDIA video driver includes a sound device something like "HD HDMI
audio" so, from the point-of-view of Linux, your HDMI TV is just another
sound device. The GPU outputs audio and video to your TV without extra
hardware.
