Probably easier to get the largest fan you can fit into your case and
run it at low speed. Most modern hardware/drivers support throttling of
power hungry components so there might not be a lot of heat production
at idle.
The old Myth box (Antec NSK1380/AMD x2-3600/M2N-VM) has a 120mm fan on
the power supply and a fan on the CPU. I can't hear it from its location
under the TV.
The Acer Revo has a fan, but it is imperceptible. The Wii beside it is
what makes all the noise.
