You guys are thinking like nerds. That won't help you talk to
politicians. Don't try to talk like a lawyer if you're not a lawyer.
Even if you can poke holes in the arguments, you'll still fail. Tell
them stories about how this is going to affect your life and your
business. Tell them you want to buy things and you will, but the
market isn't providing things to you in a format you can use. You
don't want to be thrown in jail (or fined or whatever) so you can use
the things you bought to support artists.
Keep it simple. Let Michael Geist be the legal scholar. You have to
tell them how this affects you *personally*, not in the abstract.
