[kwlug-disc] CarryTel referral

I've been with Teksavvy for almost 20 years. I've been alright with TS not being the absolute lowest, as they've been doing a lot of good work fighting for TPIAs with the CRTC and in court, as well as fighting against copyright trolls desire to access customer information.

That said... Carrytel's price is about half of what I'm paying Teksavvy currently. I'm somewhat curious what the difference is that allows them to offer such cut-rate prices. I'm not a telecom scientist, but AFAIK the wholesale cost for 1gbps via Rogers is $49.06 [1]. How they offer that for $59.99 is confusing.

As for their service, the last-mile should be identical -- unfortunately. Old coax cable network has been my biggest issue over the last few years. I'm going to assume their upstream performance will be somewhat similar, with an interconnect with rogers and upstreams in a big datacentre in Toronto.

Do they support IPv6? I don't see anything on their support pages.
