I don't think it's overly unreasonable for voip.ms to want to be confident
what country their customers are in.

I suspect it may help avoid credit card fraud (which is likely a challenge
in the VOIP provider world), and may help reduce the possibility that
voip.ms services get used by telephone fraudsters.
