[kwlug-disc] OpenWRT Capable Routers

Thought this would be interesting to some here ...

In the past, I bought older routers and installed OpenWRT on them.

We no longer need to do that, because there are new routers that allow
flashing with OpenWRT, and have new features (e.g. WiFi 6).

One such router is Cudy

Very reasonably priced.
Only thing I see missing is a USB port, though this is not a crucial
function.

Installation was straightforward:
1. Download a signed OpenWRT image from Cudy's Google Drive.
2. Flash the router with that.
3. Download the latest OpenWRT image for this specific router.
4. Flash it as a sysupgrade image from the LuCI menus.

That is it.

There are other brands that support plain OpenWRT, such as GL.inet, but
they are more expensive.
