A yes. 

your user has to be a member of audio group 
sudo usermod -a -G audio $USER

And it seams the first card is the HDMI output of the PC and the sound
card is actually USB.
So for your user you can create ~/.soundrc with the following content:
defaults.pcm.card 1

Or you can set it for the hole system with the file /etc/asound.conf
and the same format.
