"half-baked installs" is likely the primary cause of crappy service, to
whit --
- the cables on my dad's street in Westvale were found to be a mere 15"
below grade when the road was being resurfaced. It was supposed to be at
least 30" below grade. Most of the cabling was damaged during that
resurfacing.
- Yakking with a service tech at one of the junction boxes, we both
commiserated over the hot garbage that is the attenuator, the poor seals on
the junction boxes, that rubber seals are ineffective as the plastic boxes
are usually warped. At the distribution point on his street(box on a front
yard), the cables feeding the various homes were inconsistent and some had
frayed ground sheathing. Decidedly, a real hot mess.
The Rogers techs(contracted outsiders) love it though, it's all about time
and materials billing to Rogers, so they love when problems go on forever,
mo' cheddah!
